For ages we've heard Winter is Coming, but whether it's right around the corner or not, things look rather bleak for some of our favorite Westeros residents. 17 Dec 2014 | 7:02 am
Villains are necessary to keep all the good guys on their toes. We've compiled some of the most vile from 2014. They might use their daughter as a hitman, kill their son's girlfriend, play both sides of the law or take the form of some other monster (no, really, monsters are on the list!). Whatever the case, we get great pleasure in seeing them rise up and sometimes even more when they finally fall crashing down. Jim Halterman
    17 Dec 2014 | 6:48 am
It's life and death time on the winter finale of The 100 Season 2 Episode 8. But, come on, that's really no different than any other episode of the intense, high stake series but storylines are coming to a head and for some reason I suspect we may get a cliffhanger of sorts that we'll have to be satisfied with until new episodes start in the new year. It was a good thing, then, that I was on the Vancouver set of The 100 last week and grabbed some time with Eliza Taylor, who plays Clarke and is always in the midst of all the drama and life threatening stakes. Let's see what she had to say…

The shock resonating from the Senate Intelligence Committee's CIA torture report isn't due so much to the revelations themselves, grotesque as the details are, but to the fact that they're now officially public. National spokespersons (except for Dick Cheney) can no longer deny, quite so glibly, that the United States is what it claims its enemies to be.We're responsible for the worst sort of abuses of our fellow human beings: A half-naked man freezes to death. Nick Roman
    17 Dec 2014 | 9:49 am
The National Film Registry selections are in for 2014! As a result of the National Film Preservation Act, the Librarian of Congress selects 25 films, at least 10 years or older, that are “culturally, historically or aesthetically” significant, to be preserved for history. This year’s list is particularly diverse, spanning from 1913-2004. It’s one of the more colorful lists yet, actually, as the selections for this year include the 1986 John Hughes favorite, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Also on the list is the Coen Brothers’ cult classic from 1998, The Big Lebowski. In…

The Sony hacking scandal has just taken another hostile turn, due to the threat of violence by the hackers responsible for all this drama. The New York premiere of The Interview, scheduled to take place at Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema in New York’s Lower East Side on Thursday, has been canceled. This is due to the latest threat from the Sony hackers, who are now invoking 9/11 when warning what will happen to any theater that plays The Interview. The threat is unsurprisingly vague, since it’s would-be terrorism, after all. Vagueness is totally their jam. The Interview, a comedy…
